PROJECT VISION
Due to the extreme nature of the sport, the rapid growth of snowboarding has also been accompanied by an increase in snow related injuries. However, there is still a lack of resources addressing rehabilitation for this sport. This gap poses a challenge for practicing clinicians who may have limited exposure to winter sports, potentially affecting their ability to deliver optimal, sport-specific rehabilitation programs. Furthermore, physiotherapy graduates entering the field may find themselves feeling underprepared as the academic curriculum don’t often delve deeply into sports-specific injuries and rehabilitation.
This website represents a robust synthesis of current scientific literature, relevant online resources, and expert consultation with specialised sports/musculoskeletal physiotherapists. The content has been meticulously refined through collaborative feedback consultation sessions with practicing clinicians, to ensure clinical relevance and practical applicability. By integrating current research with clinical expertise, this website aims to bridge this knowledge gap by providing a comprehensive, evidence-based resource for both practicing clinicians and physiotherapy students.
The vision of this project is to serve as a complementary tool for physiotherapists and physiotherapy students to deliver more targeted treatments for snowboarding injuries, ultimately supporting better return-to-sport outcomes.
Currently, only a limited number of injuries will be covered due to the time constraints of the PEEK project. However, I will endeavour to continuously update and include more injuries in the future.
